The Wanted

British boy band The Wanted announced today that, at least for now, they would no longer actively work together as a group. Following the completion of their already scheduled tour obligations, The Wanted’s members have decided to perue separate opportunities.  Read their official statement below.

“This tour will be their last for a while as Tom, Max, Jay, Siva and Nathan have collectively decided to take time to pursue personal endeavours following the tour’s conclusion. The band wants to stress to their fans that they will continue on as The Wanted and look forward to many successful projects together in the future. They thank their fans for their continued love and support and look forward to seeing them on tour.”

Sources close to the group told TMZ that group members Max George and Nathan Sykes have already started working on solo projects. Outside of needed a brief break for throat surgery, Nathan already had a taste of solo stardom when he teamed up with Ariana Grande to perform on her stand out duet, “Almost is Never Enough” back in August of  this past year.

The Wanted burst on the scene in the US thanks to their hit “Glad You Came” in 2011.   It went on to become an international success as one of the best selling songs of   2012 period. “Glad You Came” was then followed by stand out singles “Chasing The Sun”, “I Found You”,“Walks Like Rihanna”, and “We Own The Night”. Those follow ups. They performed respectably in different territories, but failed to match the heights of their debut.

Thanks For the music fellas. Best of luck in the future.
