Casey Kasem

At the beginning of the week we reported that Top 40 hits radio legend Casey Kasem had gone missing. The 82-year old former American Top 40 DJ had the world looking for him after his wife’s attorney said he was out of the country and he didn’t know exactly where he was. His children then took to ABC News to let the get the word out about their missing father who suffers from both Parkinson’s disease and Lewy body dementia.

We are now happy to report that Casey has been found perfectly safe in the state of Washington! He was located after his family filed the missing persons report. The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Department said that Kasem was at an undisclosed address provided by the California Adult Protective Services and his wife is aware of where he is. In the ABC News report from May 12th, it was reported that Casey’s children told them that his wife, Jean has barred them from visiting their father, and the family is in the middle of a major legal battle for visitation rights. The judge who ordered an investigation into Casey’s whereabouts has recently granted his daughter, Kerri Kasem a temporary conservatorship. Kerri posted a message about her father being found on her Facebook page today.

“We are grateful to the local authorities for finding my Dad. We are one step closer to bringing him home.”

Hopefully the Kasem family will soon find a way to resolve to this very public family feud. We wish Casey and his entire family all the best!
