#ThrowbackThursday: “…Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears

By Sean Smith
Britney Spears has been busy putting in work as of late.
The one time “Mickey Mouse Club” Mouseketeer has been busy promoting her latest single “Work B*tch” which is the lead single off of her forthcoming eighth studio album tentatively titled Britney Jean. Spears is also gearing up for her Las Vegas show “Piece of Me” that is set to debut on December 27th. The show will be running out of the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino and will run for two years. Spears will be performing 100 shows in all and will be making roughly $30 million for her two year residency along the Vegas Strip.
The reason that Spears is getting paid about $300,000 per show in Sin City is because she is a bonafide pop star. Her path to pop stardom began fifteen years ago yesterday, when on October 23, 1998, her debut single “…Baby One More Time” was officially sent out to American radio stations. The song would eventually go on to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart replacing a classic Brandy track “Have You Ever?” But “…Baby One More Time” will be remembered by many a young boy at the time for its music video featuring a younger Spears dancing in a Catholic schoolgirl outfit.
So for this week’s edition of #ThrowbackThursday here on Clizbeats, we remember the song that jump started the career of Britney Spears, her debut single, “…Baby One More Time.” Enjoy!
