The Great Gatsby Soundtrack Takes Center Stage On The Film’s New TV Commercial

Leonardo DiCaprio In "The Great Gatsby"

Leonardo DiCaprio In "The Great Gatsby"

In the past few weeks we have very enthusiastically told you about the soundtrack to the new Leonardo DiCaprio and Toby Maguire film, The Great Gatsby. Our friends at Interscope Records have sent us clips of nearly the entire sound except for two key tracks. Those key tracks were “100 Dollar Bill” by the soundtrack’s executive producer, Jay-Z, and “Back To Black” by his wife Beyonce and Andre 3000. Both of those songs were recently officially unveiled in the most recent forms of advertisements for the film. Beyonce and Andre 3000’s Amy Winhouse cover was used in the third trailer for the film, and Jay’s “100 Dollar Bill” is now being used in the film’s new commercial. The coolest thing about that commercial is the fact that while it does technically pass as promotion of the film, the film’s soundtrack actually takes the stage. It is an attention grabber, and is a great execution of marketing for both the film and the soundtrack. Take a look at both of these cool clips and enjoy! The Great Gatsby will hit theatres on May 10th, while the soundtrack will hit stores on May 7th.
