The news is breaking all over the web that Aerosmith front-man Steven Tyler has decided not to return to American Idol for the show’s 12th season.  The Fox Network officially announced the news earlier today.  Tyler officially became a judge for the mega hit competition show back in September 2010.  He served as judge for seasons 10 and 11 of the show.  Below is his official statement about leaving the show.

“After some long…hard…thoughts…I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress ‘American Idol’ before she boils my rabbit. I strayed from my first love, AEROSMITH, and I’m back – but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I’ve got two fists in the air and I’m kicking the door open with my band. The next few years are going to be dedicated to kicking some serious ass – the ultimate in auditory takeover…On Nov. 6, we are unleashing our new album, Music from Another Dimension on the Earth, Moon, Mars, and way beyond the stars…IDOL was over-the-top fun, and I loved every minute of it…Now it’s time to bring Rock Back. ERMAHGERD.”

Although many are speculating about her return as well, American Idol Judge Jennifer Lopez is still officially undecided on if she plans to return to Idol.  She discussed the dilemma on NBC’s Today Show while promoting her New animated film Ice Age Continental Drift and her current tour with Enrique Iglesias.  The newst installment of the Ice Age Saga hits theaters tomorrow.  We’ve provided both her Today Show Interview and tour dates below.
