Sony Music Sues Applebee’s

The restaurant chain Applebee’s has a new lawsuit on their hands courtesy of Sony Music Entertainment.  According to TMZ, Applebee’s used AC/DC’s “Rock And Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution”, and C+C Music Factory’s “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)” in recent ad campaigns without paying for them.  The suit states  Sony was contacted through a third party about using the tracks in the TV spots.  Sony claims that it quoted $250k for the use of AC/DC, and $50k for the use of C+C Music Factory’s music.  Sony  Sent Applebee’s licensing agreements to let them use the songs, but Sony has yet to be paid.  Applebee’s claims that they paid fees to an unnamed 3rd party.  Sony wants $300k for the song usage.
