SHAWN MENDES ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM “HANDWRITTEN” THIS MORNING ON TODAY SHOW!
SHAWN MENDES(Jan. 27, 2015 – New York, NY) Island Records singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes, who took the music world by storm this past year with his RIAA certified gold debut single “Life of The Party” and his iTunes #1 EP, announced his debut album HANDWRITTEN, in addition to a 14-date international and U.S. tour run, this morning on NBC’s Today Show. The new tour dates, which sold out within minutes of going on sale, start in Stockholm, Sweden on February 23rd and carry on through Europe into early March. The tour picks up again April 8th through April 22nd running across the United States, and setting the stage for the April 28th release of Shawn’s eagerly anticipated debut album.
The album, which will be available for pre-order on iTunes next Monday, February 2nd, will feature hit singles Life Of The Party and Something Big, in addition to new songs crafted by Mendes in writing sessions on his tour bus over the course of the past year, including production by Martin Terefe (Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” & Train’s “Hey Soul Sister”), as well as songs with Life Of The Party co-writers Ido Zmishlany & Scott Harris. The supporting upcoming tour dates are a continuation of Shawn’s first-ever sold out headline dates this past November which also sold out in just minutes, and is his first major stint back on the road since the iHeart Radio Jingle Ball Tour in December.
