Cumulus Media announced that Scooter Braun will serve as a guest judge for the NASH Next Challenge, a country music talent competition aimed at discovering and releasing music from talented newcomers. The grand-prize winner will be signed to the new NASH Next record label, with the top 10 challengers also participating in the NASH Next concert tour, which will kick off in early 2016.
Scooter, the founder of the diversified entertainment and media company SB Projects, has discovered some of today’s biggest stars, including Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and Cody Simpson. Scooter’s roster also includes duo Dan + Shay, singer/songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen and breakout star Tori Kelly.
Scooter will participate as a guest judge in the Periscope Live Broadcast Challenge, which runs from September 14–23. During this third round challenge, artists and bands will perform an original song live on Periscope and fans will vote for their favorite on the NASH Next website.
Scooter joins the three full-time NASH judges, including producer James Stroud, award-winning country artist and radio personality Kix Brooks and Cumulus executive vice president of content and programming John Dickey.
