Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own” Boosted By Golden Globes Win
As you probably know from what we’ve already reported, Sunday was a big night for “Skyfall” singer Adele, who won best song at Sunday’s Golden Globes. Well, now that we’ve given the Bond theme its props, we wanted to take a moment to shine our light on Dance/Pop singer, Robyn. The singer’s latest hit “Dancing On My Own” got some major primetime exposure when HBO TV series “Girls.” went home with two wins. Because the song is prominently featured on the show’s soundtrack it blared through the Beverly Hilton Hotel, and thusly reaching NBC’s mainstream broadcast audience. As a result Robyn’s label has reportedly indicated that the song’s sales have tripled!
Stats indicate that the Globes boosted this week’s sales average for the song to have an estimated total 7,000 copies. According to Billboard that was the best sales frame since May of 2012. It just so happens that May was when Girls first starting using “Dancing On My Own” to promote the show. The Girls soundtrack was released on January 8th. Exact figures on the song’s Globes performance is released tomorrow. Congrats to you Robyn! Go get em!
