Rihanna has released the music video for her single, “We Found Love” featuring Calvin Harris. Billboard Magazine describes the video as, what is soon to be her music video take on “Requiem for a Dream“. The Melina Matsoukas directed video features her and British boxer/model Dudley O’ Shaughnessy in a series of quick artistically cut shots intended to chronicle the affection, passion, excitement, arguing, and explicit embraces that Rihanna video storylines and performances have become know for. This time however, it is that it is done in what some would consider to be more of an art house fashion.
Set in Ireland, some stand out images include Rihanna frolicking in a field, O’ Shaughnessy sporting bleached blond hair, and an excessive amount of flagrant cigarette smoking by the couple in an intense make out session. Also, we can’t specifically prove that O’ Shaughnessy’s hair was colored blond for this reason, but in this video, right from the second you see him, he bares a very striking resemblance to Rihanna’s now Infamous ex, R&B singer Chris Brown. Fans may remember entertainment news buzzing over Rihanna getting scolded by a local farmer after appearing topless on his land. That occurrence can be found as a scene in this video at the mark of 1:03. That farmer named Alan Graham told the BBC, “I thought it was inappropriate. I requested them to stop and they did. I had my conversation with Rihanna and I hope she understands where I’m coming from. We shook hands.”
When its all said and done, we think the video turned out great. “We Found Love”‘s album Talk That Talk is due for release on November 21st by SRP/Def Jam Records/IDJMG. Enjoy the video below!
