RCA’s New Team Signs Brandy For “Come Back Album”

Looks like things have been quite busy over at RCA Records since they named  Peter Edged their new president and CEO two weeks ago.  Since that time things have been full speed ahead.  In that time he has reorganized a team of industry vets to head up the newly face lifted label in hopes of charging forward into a new era of the company.  That team of vet executives include Sony Music stand outs like former Notorious B.I.G. manager Mark Pitts who was named  president of Urban Music., long time Jive Records Radio Peomo head Joe Riccitelli, who has made a career in helping break block buster artists like Justin TImberlake, Britney Spears, and Usher, and senior A&R David Wolter who’s past includes work with The Gorillaz, Fountains of Wayne, and Ben Harper.

The momentum of this new team appears to have  culminated n the reported signing of  R&B singer Brandy.  Edge and his new team intend to facilitate a come back  her come back album aiding in the musically oriented end of what is shaping up to be her overall resurgence.  This is because in addition to returning to music, the R&B starlet is also expected make a return to acting on The CW’s 90210 in October. In Signing Brandy Edge was quoted as saying, “Throughout her career, Brandy has consistently won the vote as everyone’s favourite female vocalist. I am sure that in her next chapter… (she) will record her most exciting music to date.”

Time will tell on how it all will work out but both Brandy and RCA are coming at this with experience from all angles.  It should be interesting to see how it all turns out.  We will keep you posted as new information emerges.
