Prince

The family and friends of pop legend Prince Rogers Nelson had their private memorial service to honor his recent passing this past Saturday. Now, iheart Media is reporting that Maurice Phillips, Prince’s brother-in-law, said that Prince was awake 6 whole days before his death.

“I was with him just last weekend,” Maurice said. “He worked 154 hours straight. He was a good brother-in-law.”

This info was admitted to shortly after claims surfaced that Prince was addicted to Percocet. According to Daily Mail Online, Prince allegedly had substance issues for years. They spoke with someone identified as Doctor D who gave detail on what they say is the singer’s history.

I first met Prince in 1984 while he was filming the movie Purple Rain and he was already majorly addicted to opiates – I didn’t hook him on drugs. He was already a really heavy user.”

Doctor D added, “He needed the drugs because he was so nervous – he could be nervous in a room with just five people in it. He wasn’t really a party guy, he was doing these drugs so he could feel at ease around people.”

He closed by saying, “He was scared to go out in public, he was scared to talk to people and didn’t like to go on stage. He had the worst case of stage fright I’d ever seen. I think it was nerve wracking for him to have to perform in front of cameras and people every day so he needed the drugs.”
