When Island Records decided to release Justin Bieber’s second album, My World 2.0 so quickly after the release of his debut, the intention was to take his online appeal with the “radio Disney” audience and combine it with the general Teen Pop demographic. With platinum certifications in six countries and his first top 5 single (”Baby”) his team can say mission accomplished. My World 2.0 has had 3 singles impact Pop radio (four including Usher’s Remix of “Somebody To Love” ) There is no doubt that his presence is going to continue to grow significantly with the upcoming release of the album’s third official radio single. The song is “U Smile” and so far it is proving to be Bieber’s most critically acclaimed song yet.
“U Smile” like mnay other Bieber songs was originally released digitally to help market the release of the album. The song’s catchy hook with the lyrics “you smile, I Smile” quickly became Bieber’s Hallmark calling card when talking directly to his fans via his Twitter and Facebook accounts.. Those easy to quote lyrics began being exchanged to various Bieber fans throughout the world, one of the many reasons why Bieber’s name remains one of the most Tweeted about around the world. Now that “U Smile” is finally being released to American Pop radio on August 24th, it has potential to be one of his most successful at radio. Its stripped down, blued eyed soul style combined with the song’ simple universal message has the ability to translate on radio the way it once did online with its original digital release.
.” When speaking of “U Smile”, It is guaranteed to generate warm and fuzzy emotions in millions of young fans. However, it should not disappoint adults either. There is a clarity and resonance in Justin Bieber’s young voice that would be the envy of most American Idol contestants. Just like in the past it is easy to disparage these tunes in their simplicity and lack of high-brow pretension, but it is just that which makes My World 2.0 such a refreshing experience. There is no significant filler here. If you are looking for a pure, engaging pop record, you can’t do much better right now” (Bill Lamb About.com)
If the song’s presence in Bieber’s native Canada is any indication of any possible future American success, the song debuted strongly at number 17 on the Canadian Pop Charts. This pattern of pre-American Canadian success has proven to be a winning formula for Justin with every phase of his career. He was already a massive success on Canada’s Much Music long before the official release of his first single, “One Time” in the US. This pattern was also what gave Clizbeats.com cluess to his massive populatity early on when we aggresively requested interview time with him from Island Def Jam in May of 2009. (The Interview was recorded in June 2009). Keep up the good work JB! You and your team, Scooter Braun and Usher are Rewriting the rule book in Teen Pop marketing in the digital era! The industry needs to take notes!
We first heard whispers of rumors around Linkin Park’s new fourth album when the band recorded the theme for the first DreamWorks Transformers film, “New Divide” in 2008. Now two years later that project has finally arrived. The album is A Thousand Suns and it will be released on September 14th, via Warner Bros. Records. As promised to many avid music fans, the album will be produced by Linkin Park rapper/front-manm Mike Schinoda and acclaimed music producer of nearly all types, Rick Rubin. The first single is called ” The Catalyst ” and it wasted no time hitting it big, debuting at number one on the Modern Rock Chart with a 12. million audiance in its first week.
A lot of the success of the song is attributed to the band’s cutting edge contest called “Linkin Park” Featuring You.” This contest was started last month when the band serviced files for the single allowing fans to remix and feature themselves on the song. The winner would be tagged as official and added as a part of the album. The winner of this contest was a remixer simply named was “NoBraiN”. This sparked an enthusiasm for the song’s release on August 2nd. Take a listen to the new Linkin Park single and its remix.
Mike Posner "31 Minutes To Take Off" J. Records/RMG
We all got to know Detroit singer/songwriter, Mike Posner when his two mixtapes with DJs Don Cannon and Clinton Sparks led to a deal with J. Records, and a top 10 hit single, “Cooler Than Me” which was the suprise hit of the year. Now that his debut album, 31 Minutes To Take Off was released last week we are sure to be hearing a new single from the album. The second single, is “Please Don’t Go” which was co written and produced by Benny Blanco who is famous for working with the likes of Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Katy Perry and many others. Posner took us all by surprise by going from an aspiring artist making music in his Duke University dorm room, to becoming one of 2010’s hottest break out stars. Only time will tell if his sound will stand the test of time, but he is off to a good start. His new album features appearances from the likes of superstars like Boyz II Men and Travis Barker. Take a listen to his new single right here!

The first single will be “Something ‘Bout Love.” It was co-written by Archuleta along with S*A*M and Sluggo, best known for producing “Shake It” by Emo Pop Bandm Metro Station, and Chris DeStefano. “Something Bout Love” goes on sale on ITunes officially tomorrow.
Eminem Featuring Rihanna "Love The Way You Lie" Shady/Aftermath/Interscope Records
Eminem finally released the video for his current hit single, “Love The Way You Lie” featuring Rihanna at the end of last week It had its world premiere on the various MTV music cable channels (MTV Hits MTV Jams). It is also MTV Jams’ “Jam Of The Week this week.. The video went on to become an online phenomenon on Eminem’s Vevo channel, it was viewed over 6 million times in the first 24 hours of its online release. (More than some cable TV shows) The vide was dorected by Joseph Kahn who worked with Eminem on the video for his hit single, “Without Me.” Kahn casted Megan Fox, (best known for her roles in the Transformers movie series drom DreamWorks) and Dominic Monaghan, (best kmon for his role as Meriadoc Brandybuck in the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy) to play a couple involved in an abusive relationship as Eminem and Rihanna perform in a field and in front of a burning house.
Towards the end of the video both Dominic and Megan, as well as Eminem in some shots are shown burning up in computer generated flames while Rihanna remains standing in front of a burning house. This is a visual reference to Rihanna’s part in the song which starts with, “Just gonna stand there and watch me burn” This visual as well as Rihanna’s involvement in the song may have a double meaning. This is because both her and Eminem have been in very public disfunctional relationships. It means that much more to have Rihanna serve as the female singing those powerful lyrics about love and pain, considering how she was very badly beaten by her ex, singer, Chris Brown.. This may also be why when discussing the songs creation with MTV Em admited to having Rihanna in mind as a guest performer on it the whole time.
“[The song] I did with Rihanna is one of those tracks that I felt like only she could pull it off, only she could do it.”

Ever since we met Jay Sean has been one of our favorite Clizbeats featured artists to interview. The dude is just genuinely excited about everything he does, and approaches it with a passion and intelligence that is nothing short of inspirational. This drive to do well always added a sense of musical electricity that always makes his music rise to the top of everything else going on in the biz. That’s exactly what happened in one of the recent Clizbeats music news meetings. The song creating this internal office frenzy is called “2012..” ” 2012″ borrows from the mion calendar’s prediction of the arrival of what some claim to be the end of the world, and Jay Sean borrows from the party like it’s the end of the world concept undeniably comparable to Prince’s “1999″ factor that proved to be nothing short of infectious.
2009 marked the year that Jay came to the states with his US debut All Or Nothing, lead by smash single “Down.” Now a year later, and with platinum success achieved Americans are completely in love with his music. Being the opportunist that he is, Jay is ready to return the favor and keep up all the fantastic momentum
“Longevity trumps everything. America has only heard one album.” “I’m so new to America. I’ve got so much more to show them, so much more to give them.”
Jay plans to achieve this longevity with the release of his second American album Freeze Time, and of course “2012 ((It Ain’t The End)” featuring Nicki Manaj. It’s too early to say wether or not lightning will strike twice to the level of “Down” success, but he’s sure off to a great start “2012″ has been serviced as the top most added song to Rhythmic radio across the country. While we wait to see if he’ll capture the same hit making that was found in “Down,” He already has returned the favor to label mate Nicki Manaj. Also serviced to radio this week was yet another “Your Love” remix, this time featuring Jay Sean, surely hitting rotation as well.
Check out the two hits. See if you dig it!
