Cable news and comedians alike are still buzzing about 82 year old actor Clint Eastwood’s now infamous “empty chair” speech that took place last week at the Republican National Convention last week. Opinions towards his performance and whether it helped the party advance it’s message seem to be pretty split. Some feel that the GOP should have picked someone younger to help the traditionally buttoned up and unhip political party relate to younger voters and go beyond its publicly known base of older white business men. Maybe Mitt would have found that solution if he was up on Lil Weezy and his Young Money crew’s mixtapes.
Yesterday Lil Wayne and Hip Hop DJ, DJ Drama released the underground mixtape known as Dedication 4. Along with it carrying many of the usual Lil Wayne mixtape characteristics like appearances of Birdman, Young Jeezy, and J. Cole, it also features a very clearly stated endorsement of Mitt Romney by Young Money’s Pop Crossover sensation Nicki Minaj. On the tape’s 5th track that features Wayne and Nicki rapping over the beat of Kanye West’s “Mercy”, Nicki can be quoted as saying “I’m a Republican voting for Mitt Romney/You lazy bitches is f—g up the economy.”
Because of Hip Hop’s tung and cheek nature, it’s hard for us to be able to say for sure if she’s being serious. However, because of the timing of the song’s release, the line’s delivery, and Nicki’s conscientious nature towards what her music is saying to her fans and how she says it, we feel that it could be a strong possibility. Take a listen to it for yourself below. We’re sure it will grab your attention.
