Nick Carter Launching New Phase Of His Career Through Dancing With The Stars?
In case you missed it, our friend, Backstreet Boy Nick Carter has revealed that he’ll be doing his thing on ABC this fall as a member of the latest cast for Dancing With The Stars. Word is that DWTS producers asked its new cast members to do their version of the summer’s biggest party dance “The Nae Nae” when announcing their participation. We realize we might be a bit biased, but we think he did his thing. Check out the related video and decide for yourself. Other cast members announced thus far include Triple Crown Winning Jockey, Victor Espinoza, and Wildlife Spokesperson/actor Bindi Irwin. Dancing With The Stars returns to ABC for its 21st season on September 14th 2015.
In related news, Nick has been busy throwing more gas on his solo career. Following the pop music collaboration Nick & Knight with New Kids On The Block star Jordan Knight, and the release of Backstreet’s Show Em What You’re Made of documentary, Carter has been busy dedicating his time to a diverse set of new projects. Avid fans are likely to remember that he has been hard at work, producing and staring in a horror film that we now know is called Dead 7 Clizbeats has learned that the flick plans to capitalize on a nostalgic pop music angle, featuring a cast that includes the likes of Howie Dorough, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, and O-Town.
Little else is known about what we can expect from this scary boy band bonanza, but all signs are pointing to Nick using both Dead 7 and DWTS as a way to create buzz around the next phase of his solo career. While the Backstreet Boys continue to tour the world as part of their deal with Live Nation, Nick has just signed a new deal with Universal Music in Japan. Fans should know that this is significant, because his previous solo album, I’m Taking Off, also launched in Japan before building up steam here in the US. The “steam” of I’m Taking Off contributed to resurging wave of activity centered around the Backstreet Boys brand, and certainly revived his persona in the American public eye, which helped him capitalize on many career building opportunities. Key examples include working with super group NKOTBSB, his Dr. Phil endorsed biography/self help book Facing The Music and Living To Talk About it, and his VH1 reality show I Heart Nick Carter that co-stars his Wife Lauren Kitt.
ABC has historically been a very valuable partner to Nick and the Backstreet Boys since they first utilized the Dancing With The Stars platform to launch new music for NKOTBSB in 2011. Since he is a singing and dancing veteran, who clearly has plenty going on in his career away from their well established machine of a show, whatever he chooses to do during his time as a contestant, we know he’ll make the most of it when building this next phase of his career. Best of luck Nick we’ll be rooting for ya!
