Pop music’s first boy band, New Kids On The Block is back again! Last week the guys premiered their brand single on Ryanseacrest.com, and then released it to digital outlets yesterday. That song, “Remix (I Like The)” is a up beat, guitar driven track that tells the story of how the once nerdy girl in school, was later “remixed” into the hottest girl around when she grew into a woman. This is probably is something many of the group’s original fans can relate to, since many of them are in their 30s or older, and are totally “remixed” into different people from when they were first introduced to the group in 1988.
The song is the first single from NKOTB’s forthcoming new album, 10 which will be released on April 2nd. It is the first album of new material since the group’s 2008 comeback album, The Block. It will also be their ’s first album to be released independently, on the group’s new venture, The Block/Boston 5. This may seem to be a bold move to some, but it is important to remember that the rejuvenated New Kids fan base is a unique one. New Kids On The Block was recently part of one of the most successful Pop music tours in recent history in 2011 with Backstreet Boys. The success of the “NKOTBSB” tour was no doubt also the inspiration behind, the group’s upcoming, The Package Tour, with 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men.There are more surprises that will be in store for the fans with this new album!
