Each year, when March 9 rolls around, hip-hop fans mourn the loss of Notorious B.I.G. But his fans aren’t alone. N.O.R.E. (also known as P.A.P.I.) recently revealed the secret Biggie told him before his death and why the slain rapper’s biopic moved him to tears.
“I watched the movie [Notorious] a couple of times,” N.O.R.E. told Radio.com. “The only part that made me cry was when he was making those phone calls. I was one of those phone calls.”
In the scene, Biggie placed calls to several of his loved ones. While the call to N.O.R.E. was omitted on screen, he remembers it well. When Big called, he played “T.O.N.Y. (Top of New York),” which was an unreleased song of Capone-N-Noreaga‘s at the time.
