The Entertainment News world is all a buzz today about the latest career move from multifaceted entertainer Jennifer Lopez.  The Hollywood Reporter reported exclusively today, that MTV has ordered a half-hour comedy script from the singer turned producer.  The sitcom follows its lead “Lina Molina”, a recent NYU graduation that returns home to the suburbs of Texas to live with “her eccentric Mexican family.”

Lopez’s “Work It” will be written by Grace Parra, who’s credit’s include Disney Channel’s Jonas. Jlo’s Executive Production credit will be shared with her production partner, Simon Fields, her manager Benny Medina, and MTV’s senior vice president of comedy and animation.  90’s TV fans may recognize Benny Medina’s name from the credits of NBC’s Fresh Prince of Bel Air.  This is because the show’s lead character, famously played by Will Smith, was loosely based around Medina’s own story of adoption from an upper-class while he was growing up.  “Work It”‘s development will be handled by Lopez’s Nuyorican Productions.
