Miley Cyrus Works With Dr. Luke, Pharrell, Mary J Blige And More For RCA Records Debut
While we were busy running around New York City with Disney alum Kevin Jonas, the news broke that fellow Disney Channel star turned Pop singer Miley Cyrus has inked a fresh deal with Sony music’s RCA Records. The reports are that she has new material ready for a new album. That album is said to include work with the likes of Dr. Luke, Pharrell Williams, Mary J Blige and Tyler The Creator. She talked about her plans for the album’s direction with Seventeen Magazine.
“I really didn’t want to make a hip-hop record, and I’m not trying at all to be a Rihanna or a Nicki [Minaj]….That’s not my vibe. When I was growing up, my older brother would sneak me Nelly CDs, my dad had me listening toDolly [Parton] and Johnny [Cash], and my mom is a complete metal head. So this record is a weird mixture of all that.”
Miley’s last effort as a recording artist was for her 2010 album Can’t Be Tamed , which was released on Disney’s Hollywood Records. It sold 1.5 million copies world wide. This new album, reportedly called Danger Zone is currently expected to be released later this year. We’ll Keep you posted as we learn more details.
