Mick Jagger & Joss Stone’s “Super Heavy” Super Group

When combing through a stack of story ideas, looking for something different to kick off the day’s posts, the latest work from Mick Jagger was the unexpected thing that rose to the top. No not the Rolling Stones.  This band is in fact a super group called “Super Heavy” .  It’s other stand out members include Joss Stone, David Stewart of the Eurythmics, Damian  Marley, and Indian film composer Allah Rahman.  The band’s formation was announced on 20 May 2011. Jagger said of the band, “We wanted a convergence of different musical styles… We were always overlapping styles, but they were nevertheless separate”.

Jagger has indicated that the purpose of forming Super Heavy is to have a musical group that can cover a wide range of musical and to blend them when possible.  After checking out their music video for “Miracle Worker” that began trending across the web last week, it is clear that they have found a pretty cool grove all there own.  We embedded it below in case you didn’t get a chance to check it out. Enjoy!
