Media sources are reporting that Michael Jackson has left the remaining portion of the Beatles publishing to former Beatles singer/song Writer, Paul McCartney.

Sir Paul had this to say about Jackson’s passing,

“It’s so sad and shocking. I feel privileged to have hung out and worked with Michael. He was a massively talented boy man with a gentle soul. His music will be remembered forever and my memories of our time together will be happy ones.

“I send my deepest sympathy to his mother and the whole family and to his countless fans all around the world.”

Sir Paul and Michael Jackson were good friends until the 1985 when Jackson out bid McCartney and John Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono to buy the rights to over 200 Beatles songs. Due to financial issues Jackson sold half the rights to Sony in 1995. However the remaining portion still owned by Jackson was still considered to be his biggest revenue stream.

It was announced earlier this year that Jackson planned on giving his share of The Beatles publishing to McCartney in his will.

Jackson and McCartney famously  collaborated  on Jackson’s blockbuster album Thriller from  1982 on “The Girl Is Mine” and also 1983 with “Say, Say, Say” from Paul’s 5th solo album Pipes Of Peace.
