Matt’s homecoming to The Voice was enthusiastically welcomed from the show’s coaches and fans everywhere. “Counting On Love” is available for purchase today on iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon MP3 via Republic Records. You can get it HERE and listen to it at this LINK.
The track merges a stomping beat with robust bluesy guitars and the singer’s instantly recognizable vocals. It’s an appropriately bombastic follow-up to his first single, “Wasted Love,”which became “The biggest single in the history of The Voice” upon release.
After graduating from Philadelphia’s University of the Arts, MATT MCANDREW recorded his independent debut View of the Pines, and the EP eventually peaked at #13 on iTunes Top Pop Albums Chart. Scouted by The Voice for the 2014 season, he joined “Team Adam” and finished in second place. During the show, his cover of Hozier’s “Take Me To Church” soared to #2 on iTunes Top Alternative Singles Chart, and his Complete Season 7 Collection landed at #3 on the Top Alternative Albums Chart.
As soon as “Wasted Love” went on sale, the artful ballad captured the #1 spot on iTunes Overall Top Songs chart. Moreover, its 24-hour sales exceeded 100,000 digital downloads. It eventually landed at #4 on Soundscan’s Digital Tracks chart with first-week sales of 209,000-plus. “Wasted Love” saw Matt make Voice history. On top of achieving the “highest first-day sales ever for The Voice,” the track also became the “fastest-rising iTunes #1 ever for The Voice.” It skyrocketed to #14 on Billboard‘s Hot 100—the highest position any song from The Voice has occupied. It’s still holding strong as last week’s sales also surpassed the 20,000-mark.
