Among the 11 tracks is their first single “Paris,” which Rolling Stone compares to “the electric-meets-electronic sound of the Postal Service… The swirling layers of synths, which constantly rush behind Caplow’s vaporous voice, give the whole track a hazy vibe.” “Paris” has been ranking highly on SIRIUS XM’s Alt Nation charts, spending two weeks in the #1 position on their Alt-18 Countdown of most requested songs, and is one of the tracks getting the most airplay on the channel.In support of Before The Waves, the band will headline their first-ever tour this summer. Kicking off on July 8 in San Diego, the tour will make stops along the West Coast, including their sold-out show at Los Angeles’ famed Troubadour (see below for full itinerary). After their headlining dates, the band will join Panic! At The Disco and Walk The Moon on The Gospel Tour for duration of the summer.
Magic Man are part of Viacom Media Networks’ Discover Great Presented by Pizza Hut emerging artist platform. The summer long campaign provides exclusive on-air and online content on VH1.
New England-based Magic Man was started by childhood friends Alex Caplow (vocals) and Sam Vanderhoop Lee (guitars and keyboards) while they traveled abroad trading labor for room and board on a series of French organic farms, creating the music for what would become Magic Man during their travels. Now they’re living a particularly lucid version of that childhood dream — playing summer amphitheaters all over the country with three of their friends (Gabe Goodman on bass, Justine Bowe on keyboard and Joey Sulkowski on drums). Magic Man have recently toured with Walk The Moon, Sir Sly, MS MR, Ra Ra Riot, St. Lucia, and New Politics.
