LIZ UNVEILS NEW ANIMATED VIDEO FOR HER PHARRELL WILLIAMS-PRODUCED TRACK “THAT’S MY MAN,”

Mad Decent/Columbia pop star LIZ steps into an animated comic strip in her superhero-worthy new video for “That’s My Man.” Watch the clip below. With her shimmering vocals front and center and funk-focused collaboration with Pharrell Williams, LIZ continues her monolithic ascent into pop stardom with this feel good summery jam, featured on The Amazing Spider-Man 2 soundtrack.
“I was lounging in bed on a lazy Saturday watching ‘Orange Is The New Black’ with my boyfriend Jack (Jack is a Chihuahua) when my manager called with some fun news: I was asked to record vocals on a song Pharrell had written and produced for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 soundtrack. I’ve always looked up to Pharrell, and he happens to have been very instrumental in the careers of some of my biggest musical influences—Justin Timberlake, Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears. Pharrell just oozes cool, and I’m beyond thrilled to have had the chance to work with him.”
A born and raised Valley Girl by way of Tarzana, CA, LIZ creates purely blissful, ageless pop gold. Guided by some of music’s most progressive curators, LIZ thrives in the grey area between serious artistry and the kitsch. LIZ unapologetically displays a thoughtful play on Y2K R&B pop with shades of forward thinking production. The resulting aesthetic has no need to proclaim itself as genuine or honest—in the end, we see an artist that’s quite frank in reminding us that music should simply make us feel good.
LIZ has been making huge waves this year, having release her Mad Decent mixtape, Just Like You earlier this spring featuring tracks “Don’t Say (feat. Tyga)” and “All Them Boys,” not to mention having toured with Charli XCX and opening for Blondie at this year’s SXSW. LIZ is currently working on her debut full-length, expected later this year.
