Listen To Demi Lovato Team Up With Jax Jones And Stefflon Don For The Sexy “Instruction”

British multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer Jax Jones released a sexy new track recently, “Instruction,” featuring Grammy nominated global pop superstar Demi Lovato and British rapper Stefflon Don. Listen to the track above.

“Nothing says summer to me more than Notting Hill Carnival,” Jones says. “That was the mental image I used throughout the making of this song. I took the idea to my good friend MNEK and the song came together really quickly. The DJ is the controller of the dance floor and lyrically, I wanted to reflect that; hence why we’re giving instructions!”

The carnival-esque banger “Instruction” follows on Jones’ hit singles “Housework,” featuring MNEK and Chicago house legend Mike Dunn, and “You Don’t Know Me,” featuring fellow South Londoner Raye. “You Don’t Know Me” has racked up more than 208 million global streams on Spotify. It also hit No. 1 on the Shazam Dance chart and peaked at No. 40 at Top 40 radio. Jones is currently the 106th ranked artist in the world on Spotify.

“I wanted to continue where I left off with ‘You Don’t Know Me’,” Jones explains. “We knew we needed someone with a certain level of swag and confidence to pull off a song like this so we sent it to Demi Lovato to see if she was interested. I thought it was long shot but she loved the record and delivered us all the right feels in the vocal. Stefflon Don is one of the most exciting new rappers to come out of the UK today, so getting her on a song with a pop superstar like Demi is a defining moment for me as a fan of music. I love clashing genres together. It’s one of those collaborations which is as exciting on paper as it sounds on record. I can’t wait to play this song at my festival shows this summer!”

Earmilk has called Jones “the man behind one of this year’s most memorable dance floor burners,” while the Huffington Post noted that “his understanding of both old school house and modern production give him a genuine vibe that just makes the dance floor come alive.”

Jones takes his inspiration from the hip hop, grime, and house music he was surrounded by in his teenage years. At 16 he was thrown out of the family home and start making grime on an old PC in his friend’s garage, where he lived at the time. These influences come through both in the studio and in his incendiary live sets in which he helms all the instruments himself, layering them upon beats and bass for a fresh, modern take on an old school sound. His biggest success to date has been as the writer and co-producer on Duke Dumont’s international 2014 hit “I Got U,” which resulted in Jones’ first UK No. 1, in addition to BRIT and Grammy Award nominations. In addition to producing two more singles for Dumont, Jones recently remixed tracks by Charli XCX, Lil Yachty, and Missy Elliot and Pharrell.

Jones is currently working on his highly anticipated debut album.
