Linkin Park is introducing the music industry and the world to their fifth studio album, Living Things with the release of its first single, “Burn It Down”, which hit radio and was sent to all digital platforms today. The song was written by the band themselves, and was co-produced by Rapper/Frontman Mike Shinoda, and overall music production and industry legend, Rick Rubin. Vocalist Chester Bennington discussed the intended evolution of the band’s sound in this album when recently talking with MTV News.
“This album is a really great representation of where we’re at right now as a band,” Bennington explained. “We’re kind of really comfortable with our early nü-metal days, and we’re really comfortable with where we’re at in our more contemporary version of ourselves, so this is a good representation of that comfort level with our own identity as a band.”
Living Things is reportedly set to hit stores on June 26th through Warner Bros Records. We’re pretty pumped to hear what else it has to offer. In the mean time, enjoy their first single, “Burn It Down” below.
