TMZ reported yesterday that Rapper Lil Wayne has suffered a gash to his eye from a skateboarding accident after a concert in St. Louis.   The news of the accident comes on the heels of his label Cash Money Records releasing his current “She Will”. featuring Drake.  The two of them pairing up is something that fans are going to just love, and for good reason. It is likely that the rappers view their ability to collaborate as a formula for success that, if possible, is bigger than their  already massive individual careers.

This is because the release of this song and a mix of music biz chatter gives us good reason to believe that the duo plan to join forces for an entire album of the two  of them performing together.  The not so subtle reasons for this collaberation are likely to have developed after their label took  note of  how Jay-z and Kanye West’s collaboration album Watch The Throne dominated the market, topping the Billboard charts and breaking ITunes record of units sold in a given week.  These motivations were even hinted at in a recent interview with XXL Magazine

“Wayne and I recently talked about [a collaboration with Drake],” Bryan (Birdman) Williams, CEO of record label Cash Money. “That’s definitely going to get done. “I think with Drake and Wayne, they young, they young cats,”Birdman added. “You got 23 and 28. Then you got Jay-Z and them, who are older and really on their way out the game. Then you got Wayne and Drake and them, who are still youthful to the game. “So it’s two different types of music all across the board.”

We will Keep you posted on the detains of this joint project.  In the mean time you can hear the two of them in action together in Waynes latest single which we embedded below.  Lil Wayne’s new album, “Tha Carter IV,” is due out Aug. 29, while Drake’s second album, “Take Care,” will be released Oct. 24.
