LA Superior Court Orders Search For Pop Music Broadcasting Legend Casey Kasem

UPDATE: CASEY KASEM FOUND SAFE IN WASHINGTON STATE

As you may have seen via social media trends last night, Pop music broadcasting legend Casey Kasem has apparently gone missing. This is significant because Kasem suffers from advanced Parkinson’s Disease and is unable to speak. An LA superior court judge has ordered an investigation of the 82 year old broadcasting legend’s whereabouts after his wife   after his wife’s attorney said he was out of the country. Our partners at the All Access Music Group have the story here.

Kasem is best known by audiences as the former host of the classic syndicated Top 40 hits radio countdown show, American To 40. The show began in 1970, originally airing on 7 radio stations, and grew to be heard around the world. AT40′s success grew to include several special features and spin-off shows focussing on  different topics and formats. Some notable examples include his “long distance dedication” feature, and his TV AT40 spin-off American Top 10. Kasem was succeeded by American Idol host Ryan Searest when he  retired in 2003.
