Last week Craig and Matt of Clizbeats took a trip to to New York to catch up with label reps and handle some business affairs.  While sitting down with Jive Records, going over their roster’s current agenda, and discussing our plans for their interview with  Jive Label heavyweight, Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys. one one band that was unexpectedly discussed was “Karmin”, the unsigned duo out of Boston. Karmin is made up of a guy and a girl that identify themselves as simply “Amy & Nick”. The duo caught the label’s eye after covering “Look At Me Now”, by Chris Brown, who is signed to Jive.  Everyone in the room watched with amazement over the combination of their simple but impactful impression, and Amy’s amazing breath control and rap skills.  Matt even remarked, “now they need a deal!”

Dubbed as “The Little Band With A Big Sound”, Karmin has made waves online, covering not only Chris Brown, but other pop tunes like Dr. Dre’s “I need A Doctor”, Tinie Tempah’s “Written In The Stars”, Jessie J’s “Price Tag”, Willo Smith’s “Whip My Hair”, Pink F***ing Perfect” Lady Gaga’s Born This Way”, “All Of The Lights” by Kanye West, “Tonight (I’m Loving You)”, by Enrique Iglesias, “Fireworks” by Katy Perry, “Hold It Against Me”, by Britney Spears, “We R Who We R”, by Ke$ha,  and more.  They are fantastic, and in many ways posses what entertainment is all about.
