In other JB news, all his Believbers around the world have something else they can be proud of. Justin’s current single “As Long As You Love Me” featuring Big Sean has given Justin his first Top 10 hit on American Pop radio. The single currently is holding steady at number 3 on the Pop Mediabase radio chart. This is significant for Bieber because as his fans already know, Justin became massively famous on YouTube/online, however despite the insane amount of fan support, his young voice did not translate as easily onto radio playlists with much older sounding artists. Therefore despite achieving platinum status with most of his famous records, even his biggest sellers like “Baby” or “Somebody To Love” only reached top 20 status on the radio charts, However now that JB clearly sounds older, it appears that the young sound that once worked against him is no longer there to prevent him from finding a home at radio. Since Justin is one of the world’s top selling artists right now, it is arguable if he really needs radio’s support to be successful at all. Despite the amount of success he is currently experiencing however , having Justin accepted on radio by music directors across the country like he has with “As Long As You Love Me” shows that he is doing everything he can to make music that will allow him to be accepted as a career artist who can grow up to last like Pop icons of past generations.
