NBC’s has announced plans to air a new police drama that stars pop star/actress Jennifer Lopez. Shades of Blue is slated to premiere its a two-hour pilot episode on Thursday, January 14 at 9 pm. Alongside co-stars, Ray Liotta, and Drea De Matteo, Jlo plays a New York detective and single mother named Harlee Santos. Her character learns these “Shades of Blue” when gets involved with a group of crooked cops and starts accepting bribes to provide the best life for her daughter. To make things that much more dramatic, she then becomes an informant when the FBI catches red handed.
“We’re so excited to have locked in a premiere date and can’t wait to show audiences what Jennifer and the rest of this incredible cast delivers in this compelling new drama series,” Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment, said in a press release.
“Jennifer’s role as Det. Harlee is a tour de force. She carries herself with incredible grit and toughness, yet at the same time heartbreaking vulnerability.”
The new series is jointly produced by Universal Television, Nuyorican Productions, EGTV, and Ryan Seacrest Productions.
