Pop singer, actress and American Idol judge, Jennifer Lopez is continuing to multitask throughout the entertainment industry. As Idol continues to enjoy success with the judge team of J-Lo, Randy Jackson and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, Lopez also hopes her music success will continue as she recently released her brand new club track, “Dance Again.” The title of the track has significant meaning behind it, because it can be considered the sequel to Lopez’s 2011 number one hit, “On The Floor.” The new track reunites J-Lo with the creative forces behind “On The Floor,”  Pitbull and producer RedOne, with hopes that “Dance Again” will help get music fans on the floor…again. The song was co-written by another one of Pitbull’s frequent collaborators, Enrique Iglesias, who famously teamed up with Pit for the smash hits “I Like It” and “I Like How It Feels.”

Lopez’s “Dance Again” not only reunites her with old friends creatively, it also reunites her with her old business partners at Sony Music and Epic Records. This is interesting because Lopez and Sony parted ways after her 2007 album, Brave failed to perform well commercially. Just as her relevance as a Pop music star was beginning to be called into question, Jennifer signed a deal with Antonio “LA” Reid over at The Island Def Jam Music Group. That deal helped rejuvenate her music career as her latest album Love? propelled her back into the spotlight with singles like “On The Floor” with Pitbull, “I’m Into You” featuring Lil Wayne, and “Papi”. However music industry insiders remember that “LA” Reid parted ways with Island Def Jam only to become the Chairman/CEO of Epic Records in July of last year. Along with breaking a few new artists on Epic like Chris Rene, Karmin and Cher Lloyd, Reid has made plenty of room for J-Lo under the growing roster under new management. . Talk of Lopez returning to Epic also began when it was rumored that “Dance Again” would be included on a greatest hits package from Epic/Sony.  While it would make sense for J-Lo to return to the label who was behind the majority of her career defining hits like “I’m Real”, “If You Had My Love” and “Waiting For Tonight”, it was never confirmed that “Dance Again” would spearhead the promotion of any such compilation. While there is little doubt that a greatest hits is being planned for release, it looks as if J-Lo is still too excited about new music to stop and look back, “Dance Again” was serviced to mainstream radio today and was world premiered on KIIS FM’s On Air With Ryan Seacrest. Only time will tell if lightning will strike twice for J-Lo, Pitbull and RedOne, but it certainly is a huge reminder why Jennifer is one of the most accomplished entertainers in this world.
