Last week we told you about the newly formed partnership between Moroccan producer RedOne’s label 2101 Records and Capitol Records. Now we are very excited to say that the first release from that newly formed joint venture is not only a hit record, but it probably will be the biggest song of the summer. That song is the RedOne produced single, “Live It Up” by Jennifer Lopez featuring Pitbull. It is the first to come from J-Lo’s recently inked deal with 2101/Capitol, and is the first single from her forthcoming eighth studio album.

In the song Pitbull references going for a “three-peat”, that is because “Live It Up” marks the third collaboration between J-Lo, Pitbull and RedOne on a single. It is the obvious third sequel to the trio’s previous dance hits, “Dance Again” from 2012 and “On The Floor” from 2011. Only unlike most film sequels, it seems like these three are in the zone even more this time around than ever before. The song perfectly compliments all the genres of music that J-Lo is known for, and mixes them together in an infectious way. She continues to have that Latin flavor as most of Pitbull’s opening lyrics are in Spanish, The combo of his flow and J-Lo’s thumping, “in your face” energy is reminiscent of her well known Urban inspired “Jenny From The Block” style  of Pop music. This is especially true when you hear what sounds like a Kurtis Blow inspired  sample saying “Clap Your Hands To The Beat.”  Her sexually charged lyrics and flirtatious swagger in her delivery shows that Jennifer Lopez continues to get better with age. It all comes together with RedOne’s EDM style of Europop beats that make it perfect for the clubs for all cultures around the world!

It was premiered at the New York radio station WHTZ FM “Z 100”, where Lopez told host Elvis Duran that she had no intentions of setting a release date for its parent album, “I think we’re going to release this first and then a few singles and then we’ll decide when to put the album out”. She added, “I’m more a believer of letting it gain momentum. Let there be demand for the album by putting out some great music first.” It was later reported that Capitol expects to have the album ready for release in November. We are thrilled! This is such a great breath of fresh air of some real genuine soul in an over saturated Dance Pop EDM music market. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
