Is A Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Nas And Timbaland Collaboration In The Works?
Well you know what they say that a picture is worth a thousand words, well you can’t help but wonder how many words are being said about this photo right here!
What you are seeing is a photo taken earlier this week of Justin Timberlake, Nas, Jay-Z and Timbaland all in the studio together! To many this would definitely be a dream team collaboration! The photo was taken by a very well connected on looker by the name of aka the “Kodak Man”, who recently shared it with the world on his Instagram account. The question is, are we getting a preview of a possible collaboration for Justin Timberlake’s upcoming album? JT fans will remember that just before the release of his third album, The 20/20 Experience, he did reveal that there was already a sequel album in the works. RCA Records later confirmed that The 20/20 Experience Vol. #2 will be released on September 30th.
People in the music business have often commented on how Justin Timberlake’s relationships with producers throughout his solo career have been very organic, and a natural sonic growth for both himself and his producers at the time of any given project. This is why JT has worked with Timbaland and his camp more than any other production team in his career. Well one of the common factors between Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z and Nas, is Timbaland. Tim has produced each of those artists for on more than one album in each of their careers at one time or another. Justin even acknowledged that one of the things that brought him and Jay-Z together for their Legends Of Summer tour was the fact that they share the same producer. In March while promoting The 20/20 Experience, Justin stopped by BET’s 106th and Park and talked about his relationship with Jay-Z. Justin hinted that away from their hit single “Suit & Tie”, the two got a little carried away making a hand full of other records together, when Justin and Timbaland were supposed to be in the studio producing songs for Jay’s wife, Beyonce.
“I was with Tim and we were working on stuff for Miss Beyonce,” he said. “And she made the mistake of letting Jay and I have another room at the studio. Actually, I don’t want to give too much away, but we’ve done a lot of songs together. So hopefully those will find a way to see the light of day.”

At the time Justin was not sure how those songs could see the light of day, but that was also days before The 20/20 Experience Vol. #2 was confirmed as a real project. There is a probably a very good chance that while the first 20/20 Experience dipped into a lot of the Neo Soul genre, the second one could indulge a lot of Justin’s love for the Hip Hop sound. This is even more of a possibility since he already went on BET confirming that songs like that already exist! We could be looking at some possible classics in the making in this photo who knows?

In other Justin Timberlake/photo related news, producer and friend to Justin, Pharrell Williams also published a photo of he and JT together in what looks like a studio on his Facebook Page yesterday. The two worked together closely on Justin’s debut solo album, Justified from 2002. Pharrell and his production partner, Chad Hugo produced 9 songs on that album, including the majority of the hit singles. Pharrell has also regularly worked with Jay-Z throughout his career, and Jay and Pharrell consider each other to be close friends. Could this photo be a part of a possible Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams creative reunion? Only time will tell! Stay tuned for more info as if becomes available!
