Keala Settle made her Broadway debut in 2011 as Shirley in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, before going on to originate the role of Norma Valverde in Hands on a Hardbody which received rave reviews when it ran on Broadway in 2013 . Keala was nominated for the Outer Critics Circle, Drama Desk and Tony Awards for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. She went on to perform in the revival of Les Misérables as Madame Thenardier and then starred in the Broadway musical Waitress in 2016. Keala has made the jump to film and starred in Ricki And The Flash in 2015 alongside Meryl Streep. She is also prominently featured in the ensamble cast for Hugh Jackman’s latest film, The Greatest Showman, which was released on December 20, 2017.

In the film Keala plays Lettie Lutz, the bearded lady. The character is a composite character partly based on Josephine Clofullia and Annie Jones. As one of the stand out vocalists in the film, she is featured on three of the film’s musical numbers written by the acclaimed songwriting team of Pasek & Paul. Among them is the chart-topping soundtrack’s first single, “This Is Me.”
