Idol Feuding Done For Ratings?: We Take A Look

American Idol Crew 2012

Perhaps the biggest current event story in the week, that is still being updated to date is that of American Idol’s verbal tussle that occurred between the show’s judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey.  Well, because of the immense attention payed to it, and the fact that there were very harsh words exchanged, we wanted to take some time to figure it all out now that, at least some of the smoke has cleared.   After breaking the story, TMZ went on to investigate the bizarrely Irate behavior that Nicki was caught on tape surving it up to Mariah Carey.  If you haven’t seen it Click here to watch the video obtained by TMZ.com.

In the wake of the video’s release, a fire storm of finger pointing and accusations arose. Carey struck a big blow to the situation by getting Barbara Walters involved.  The vet reporter  called Carey to get the scoop on the situation.  Walters discussed her phone call on ABC’s The View today.  Walters reported ‘If I had a gun I would shoot the bitch.'”  As of now, Mariah has reacted by hiring more security for her and and her kids, who are on the road with her as she’s shooting the show.

Minaj reacted to the toned up media hype by tweeting, “I don’t call tmz n Barbara Walters cuz I stand on my own two feet.  Never needed an army. God is good.  Insecurity is as cruel as the grave.

I guess it hurts 2 have the producers tell u to ur face that nicki is the best judge we’ve had since simon. Awww, poor u. Keep them lies cmn.”
One crucial reminder that we feel like needs to be pointed out is that the two stars did collaborate on Mariah’s track “Up Out My Face” in 2010.  American Idol host Ryan Seacrest tried to sort it out on his nationally syndicated radio show below.  However, when he was asked about the fighting directly by TMZ,it did seem like the fighting would be advantageous to the huge Idol brand.

“We want them to be on this panel together. This is a good team, a great team, to go out and look for the next American Idol.”

Seacrest said, “[There’s] nothing wrong with disagreeing … That’s gonna happen, and it’s okay.”

Perhaps he knows what he’s talking about.  The Idol crew has us all talking about them 12 years deep into their run.  It’s probally safe to say that they have audiences curious.

On a related story, Nicki Minaj released behind the scenes footage of the latest music video from her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded: The Re- Up that was released last month.  The track “Boys” features recently admitted and long rumored girlfriend of Sean “Diddy” Combs, Cassie.  We’ve added it to the long list of media we’ve linked or embedded materialfor you enjoyment  as you form an opinion on the American Idol situation.  Cheers.
