#ICYMI: Universal Pictures Releases “Straight Outta Compton Trailer (Mature Content)

In case you missed it, this past weekend marked the debut of the official trailer to the NWA biopic, Straight Outta Compton. Universal Pictures released a 2:26 long clip for mature audiences to watch that very clearly sets the scene of the 1987 Compton CA environment that spawned one of the one of the most influential groups in all of gangsta rap.
From what we can tell with the limited amount we’ve seen, it looks like the film does a great job at depicting the inner city west coast culture that the group was born out of. That said, for those that for some reason don’t known, N.W.A., who is famous for rebellious songs like “F*** The Police”, are otherwise known as “Nigga’s With Attitude”. Therefore, the story and even these clips cannot be represented fairly unless they are aired uncensored. That said, we think it was tastefully and within context of the culture that the film captured.
