#ICYMI: “Fight Song” Singer Rachel Platten Does Touching Duet With 7 Year Old Cancer Patient
If you’re feeling jaded and need a reminder of the true power of music, we highly suggest that you check out this video from singer songwriter Rachel Platten. During her recent visit to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Rachel met 7 year-old Jeremiah Succar, who has an aggressively fast growing stage four brain tumor, called rhabdoid teratoid. Platten learned that Jeremiah found his courage to carry on through his daily struggles by singing her uplifting anthem “Fight Song.”
“Jeremiah loves ‘Fight Song’” Jerry Succar, Jeremiah’s father said.
“He used to sing it when he got a lot of headaches, but now he sings it in the morning, before bed and during shots he has to get.”
Rachel was so moved to learn this that she got Jeremiah to join her for a truly touching duet cover video to celebrate his courage. She then took to instagram to tell all of us later that day.
“The Greek was cool” Platten said, “but THIS was amazing. I love you Jeremiah. Thanks for inspiring me and rocking out with me!!!”
We agree with Rachel. He is amazing and so is this video! Check it out above.
