#ICYMI: Demi Lovato Reveals Her Relapse To The World In Heartbreaking New Song “Sober”

Pop superstar and former Disney Channel star, Demi Lovato released a revealing new song to Digital Service Providers yesterday, June 21stvia Safehouse/Island/Hollywood Records. In the song, “Sober” Demi sadly reveals to the world that she relapsed, as she continues her on going battle with substance abuse.

In “Sober” (wriiten by Demi Lovato, Tushar Apte, Sam Roman & Mark Landon) Demi sings these heartbreaking lyrics.

“Mama, I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore/And Daddy, please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor,” Lovato sings in the chorus. “To the ones who never left me/We’ve been down this road before/I’m so sorry, I’m not sober anymore.”

She also goes to say sorry to her future love “For the man that left my bed/For making love the way I saved for you inside my head,” she continues. “And I’m sorry for the fans I lost/Who watched me fall again/I wanna be a role model/But I’m only human.”

Demi Lovato has been previously very candid about her struggles with  depression, an eating disorder, self-harm, addiction, substance abuse, and bipolar disorder. This was discussed at length in her 2017 YouTube Red Documentary, Demi Lovato Simply Complicated.

A lot of these issues are what inspired the content of her recent music, especially her 2017 album, Tell Me You Love Me. Demi’s “Sober” comes after she released several hit collaborations with DJ Khaled, Clean Bandit and most notably her new duet with Christina Aguilera, “Fall In Line.” We at Clizbeats have been following Demi’s story since her Camp Rock days, we know her life has been full of ups and downs and we continue to wish her love, happiness, and good health as the years progress. Stay Strong Demi!
