#ICYMI: AMAs Salutes Star Wars With Harrison Ford, Pentatonix, And The Music Of John WIlliams
In case you missed it, Han Solo himself, Harrison Ford, surprised fans when he graced the stage at the American Music Awards last night. As previously reported, ABC and the AMAs celebrated December’s highly anticipated release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens with a performance by acclaimed a cappella group Pentatonix, who perform John Williams’ legendary Star Wars score with a full symphony orchestra. Ford announced the group after host Jennifer Lopez introduced the segment with a never before seen clip from the film. After waiting for an eruption of cheers to calm, Ford then went on to discuss John Williams, his music, and the role it has played in film history. It turned out to be a fantastic tribute that only the music world could give to him.
As Star Wars fans ourselves, we absolutely insist that you check it out. Harrison Ford will join Force Awakens director JJ Abrums on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight. The film hits theaters on December 18th via Lucasfilm LTD.
