The recent tragedy in Japan has officials estimating it out to possibly be the most expensive natural disaster in history.  So far the cost has tallied up to be $309 billion.  Well the music community couldn’t help but take notice.

TV Guide reported today that No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani has proudly donated $1 million o the Save the Children’s Japan Earthquake-Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund.

“I’ve been inspired by Japan for many years and have a true love, appreciation and respect for the Japanese people and their culture,” Stefani said Wednesday. “The disaster in Japan is beyond heartbreaking and I want to do anything I can to help. I would never be able to make a gesture like this without the love and support of all the fans over all these years.”

In addition to the very generous donation, Gwen and her band No Doubt will have special edition T-shirt available for sale on their website, with proceeds also going to the much needed relief efforts.  Click here to reach the site.
