Frozen Soundtrack Ties The Lion King For The Most Weeks At #1

“Frozen Soundtrack” Walt Disney Records

Disney’s Frozen celebrates 10th non-consecutive week at #1. Nielsen SoundScan reports that the unstoppable soundtrack has sold an additional133,000 copies. As a result the album has now sold a total of 2 million copies This success makes Frozen one of only 11 albums to have spent at least 10 weeks at #1 since SoundScan implemented its point-of-sale data in1991. Four of those 11 albums also happen to be soundtracks: Frozen, The Bodyguard, Titanic, and one of other most successful soundtracks of Disney’s history, The Lion King. In fact, Frozen now ties The Lion King for the most weeks at #1 for an animated film soundtrack. Not bad Disney, Not bad.

In a “cool” coincidence, “How It should Have Ended” also celebrated Frozen recently, by doing a parody rewrite that reveals that Frozen‘s main character to be Elsa to actually be a mutant, who needed to learn how to control her cold wielding power by joining Charles Xavier’s X-Men. It made us smile. Check it out below. Enjoy.
