The New York Post was the first to officially announce that after months of rumored speculation, former chief of Universal Music Group, Doug Morris will be stepping down to become head of Sony Music Entertainment. The post reports that Morris’ contact was finalized on Match 1st after months of negotiation. Sony is buying out the time left on his UMG contract. Morris will exit Universal on June 30th.
