If you avidly follow your favorite artists on social media and wonder if they would even notice you reaching out to them, please take note of Eminem’s recent touching story. According to the Southern Daily Echo, the “Not Afraid” rapper took notice of a 10-year old English boy named Teejay Stainer after the boy’s mother posted a picture of him holding up a sign.
That message says, “these are my Eminem legs I’ve had made. My wish is for Eminem to see them.”
Stainer has those “Eminem legs” because he was born without a calf bone and underwent an amputation at just 14-months-old. Teejay credits Eminem and his music for helping him feel “brave” when dealing with life’s challenges in spite of having his disability. Em noticed Stainer, and his legs, after that picture was shared more than 20,000.
The Detroit rapper responded by sending Stainer an autographed copy of his 2010 album Recovery with a message that read:
“To Teejay, I saw your pic and read your message! Thanks for the support!”
“I think he sent me that album in particular because of the recovery that I’ve made,” Stainer told the Southern Daily Echo.
Behold the power of music!
