Drake’s SNL Debut To Be Shared By New Black Female Cast Member Sasheer Zamata

We’d like to take a moment to congratulate Sasheer Zamata. She has been named Saturday Night Live’s first regular black cast member since Mya Rudolph. Zamata, who is a graduate of the University of Virginia is set to make her debut on the NBC late night staple with Rapper/actor Drake serving as both musical guest and host on January 18th. It should make for some great TV.

While we have a sneaking suspicion that Drake is going to do a great job, we have a feeling we’ll love what she adds to the show too. After the news was announced, Zamata’s You Tube based reel began circulating, and before it was marked as private, we got to see that much of her impression work includes hilarious takes on black female pop stars like Beyonce, Rihanna, and Nicki Minaj. Her non music related impressions also included standouts like first lady Michelle Obama, a wacky girl at the gym, and The View co-host Sherri Shepherd. We’ll definitely be watching on the 18th. Will you?  Check out her impression of Beyonce  below and see you agree. Cheers!
