Superstar DJ and producer David Guetta has announced that his documentary “Nothing But The Beat” which was produced by Coca Cola’s Burn Energy Drink in conjunction with his own label “What A Music,” is now released as a free iTunes podcast , marking the biggest global campaign iTunes has done for an artist and first of its kind with a brand. “Nothing But The Beat” is a full-length documentary-style film chronicling David Guetta’s life, career and meteoric rise from underground house DJ to global superstar. The movie tells the inspirational story of the rise of EDM through the eyes of David Guetta and his friends; their impact on electronic music is ready to ignite music fans the world over. By fusing house and electronic beats with hip hop and R&B, Guetta has catapulted house music from clubs to stadiums worldwide, ultimately taking it to the top of the music charts. The release takes place just days after Guetta’s headline appearance at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival, one of the world’s premiere Dance Music events.

The film features interviews with and insights from dance music legends Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim, Laurent Garnier, David Morales, and Pete Tong. The most exciting new blood, Avicii and Afrojack plus some of today’s most acclaimed artists who have worked with David including will.i.am, Kelly Rowland, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Taio Cruz and Usher. The movie also tracks the role David Guetta played in bringing together European electronic culture and US urban music; which changed the sound of radio in America. At the same time, the EDM scene in the US has exploded and NBTB shows how David has been pivotal as a DJ, playing evens like Electric Daisy Carnival for many years. A peek into the journey, David shares the ups, downs, struggles and victories as he introduces beats and bassline sounds to new audiences and the next generation.
In addition, David Guetta releases on iTunes Nothing But The Beat – The Electronic Album in its entirety in the U.S. The album features 10 futuristic, electronic, instrumental tracks that illustrate why Guetta is the world’s #1 beat-meister, showcasing the underground dance culture in which his roots lay (full track-listing below). One of the tracks, “Sunshine” which Guetta produced with Avicii was a 2011 GRAMMY® nominee for Best Dance Recording. Another standout track “The Alphabeat” is currently being used in a Renault campaign and Guetta will release a video for the track soon. The electronic tracks were previously split between a physical and digital deluxe version of Guetta’s acclaimed 5th studio album Nothing But The Beat. This is the first time that fans in the U.S. can get all ten tracks on one album.
Guetta has also announced that his next U.S. single will be “Titanium” featuring SIA. Already a #1 song overseas, “Titanium” will impact radio on April 30th. It follows the platinum-selling “Where Them Girls” featuring Flo-Rida and Nicki Minaj which went top 10 at Top 40 radio, double-platinum “Without You” featuring Usher which hit #1 at Top 40 radio and top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and current platinum single “Turn Me On” which is #2 this week at Top 40 radio and hit #4 on the Hot 100.
It has been a banner year for David Guetta since the August release of Nothing But The Beat (Capitol/Astralwerks). In the 7 months since release the album has sold 2.3 million albums and 14 million tracks. In addition to the GRAMMY® nomination for Best Dance Recording, the album was nominated for Best Dance/Electronica Album. It was also named the iTunes Rewind 2011 Best Dance Album. In October Guetta was named the #1 DJ in the world in the influential DJ Magazine Top 100 DJs poll, a spot that was previously held for four years by Armin Van Buurin. Guetta was also nominated for two MTV Europe Music Awards, a BRIT Award and a Victoire de la Musique Award.
Guetta also recently played his F*** ME I’M FAMOUS party in Miami at Liv on March 23rd, headlined the ULTRA Music Festival March 25th and will perform the dance tent at Coachella next month. He will be touring around the world for most of 2012.
