Coldplay To Perform At Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show

Although the NFL has yet to make an official announcement, Billboard is reporting confirmed news that Coldplay will serve as the entertainment for this year’s Super bowl halftime show. Sources close to the band say that they will perform in Santa Clara, CA at Levi’s Stadium for Super bowl 50 on February 7th. Chances are the Brit rockers are simply waiting for things to calm in their schedule just slightly before the official announcement is made. Coldplay is currently promoting their new pop music release A Head Full Of Dreams tonight on their iHeartRadio album release party special, which is streaming live tonight via Yahoo and airing on corresponding iHeartRadio stations.
As previously reported, this new, more traditionally pop focused effort, will include collaborations with lead singer Chris Martin’s ex wife Gwyneth Paltrow, Tove Lo, Beyonce and more. The band previewed their colab with Mrs. Carter known as “A Hymn For The Weekend” via their Instagram just before Thanksgiving. Hear a clip in the related media below. The full song is available tomorrow. We’ll keep you posted as we get the details.
It’s a good thing the new song will be available. In case you missed it, Coldplay has announced plans for a special concert in Paris on December 9th. French fans will be able to attend the intimate event accordingly with the help of the band’s mailing list and Facebook Page. In a statement, Chris Martin said:
“Paris is a very special city for our band. It’s a place of unequaled grace, spirit and beauty and we can’t wait to play this show.”
A Head Full of Dreams arrives in stores tomorrow.
