Daley "Alone Together" EP Universal Republic Records

We wanted to take a moment to bring you attention to a UK based soul artist that has been building up a tone of acclaim and really turned our heads. His name is Daley. He is a Manchester based R&B singer that combines soulful vocals, songwriting and hip hop with what his bio describes experimental production. After listening to it for ourselves, we feel like experimental means that he allows himself to expand his taste and on record sound beyond what we as listeners may consider to be the traditional R&B soul sound. Those of you that are familiar with George Michael and Robin Thicke may be able to draw some similarities to that echo the vibes of Thicke’s A Beautiful World, and George Michael’s early solo work if it was twisted to include a taste for a modern alternative flair.

He was first brought into the English mainstream music scene after being noticed by the folks over at BBC’s new music spotlight show known as Introducing. That was then followed by his appearance on the 2010 rerelease of Gorillaz 2009 album, Plastic Beach via the track “Doncamatic”. That cred naturally lead to the development of his own EP, Alone Together. Thanks to a helping hand from Universal Republic Records that EP is available for listen and digital download this week. It features his current single, “Remember Me” featuring Jessie J, and other cool stand outs like his Amy Winehouse Tribute “Love Is A Losing Game”, and the EP’s title track featuring Marsha Ambrosius.

We really dig it and thinks it deserves a listen. Take a listen and see if you agree. Daley is currently working on his full length debut album. We’re looking forward to what he comes up with.
