Black Eyed Peas Cover

It’s official. The Blacked Eyed Peas have the song of the summer!  Their smash hit “I Gotta  Feeling” continues to be on top of the Top 40 charts.  Up 123 plays this week in the country’s radio station, “I Gotta Feeling” joins other Interscope favorites like Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face,” and OneRepublic’s “Apologize” as one of the most played songs in Pop music history; all three of these Interscope Records artists have topped this list of most played songs at one time or another. This is without a doubt a very special achievement for a Rap group who used to struggle to get on the radio at all!

Now they are hoping follow up that momentum with single number three called, “Meet Me Half Way” for their album The E.N.D. The track is interesting because it is very progressively “new school,” even though Fergie’s vocals are hauntingly similar to a Blondie, P.M. Dawn and old school  Madonna mixture.  It’s interesting how the right blend of past influences can remind us of what’s important in music and allow for some truly progressive Pop music.  Bravo Peas! Check out the song, see if you agree!

Walt Disney Animation studios is kicking off the holiday season  their first 2d animated feature since 2004’s Home On The Range.  The film that marks Disney’s return to hand drawn animation will be the classic story, The Princess & The Frog. This will be the first 2D Disney film under  Pixar creative executive, John Lassater who later became head of Disney Animation. Disney is also returning to old 90s tradition by calling on Ron Clements and John Musker(Aladdin & The Little Mermaid)  to direct the film.

Musically The Princess And The Frog also revisits old Disney tradition by having the film’s characters sing a majority of the soundtrack composed by Randy Newman. But away from Newman, this time Disney called on acclaimed R&B singer/ Song writer, Ne-Yo to provide the film’s lead single, “Never Knew I Needed.” The soundtrack will be released on November 24th, via Walt Disney Records, the film will be released in theatres on December 11, 2009! Walt Disney Records has teamed up with Ne-Yo’s label, Def Jam to promote the single to radio soon. Def Jam also just happens be releasing Ne-Yo’s first greatest hits album, Ne-Yo: The Collectio in November as well. Until then, enjoy your new Ne-Yo, Disney style!

Jesse McCartney Talks With ‘Body Language’

September 23, 2009
Jesse McCartney

Jesse McCartney

Pop Singer/Song writer/actor, Jesse McCartney has a hot new single that is sure to make you move your ‘body’. As you may remember his 2008 album, Departure was “recharged” and re-released early this year thanks to the success of a remix of the song “How Do You Sleep” featuring Ludacris. This gave Jesse the long awaited more mature image he had been searching for as a Pop star growing into adulthood and an accomplished song writer. Hollywood Records did not only re-release Departure with the Ludacris remix, but it also featured Jesse’s version of the smash hit, “Bleeding Love” by Leona Lewis, in which Jesse actually co-wrote with Ryan Tedder! Departure Recharged has even more of an Urban Music feel, and also features acclaimed R&B song writer, Sean Garrett!

Jesse’s recharge shows no signs of dying as Hollywood just released the second single from the new Departure set. The song is another remix, this time the song is “Body Language”. The song references Jesse’s previous breakthough hit, “Leavin’” and features Hip Hop/R&B star, T-Pain!  The video is pretty hot  Check it out here!
