Jessie James
FIRST TRACK FROM UPCOMING SECOND ALBUM, OUT THIS SUMMER!
Follow-up to self-titled Jessie James debut album of 2009 – #1 iTunes and #1 Amazon – with “Wanted,” “I Look So Good (Without You),” “My Cowboy,” And “Bullet”
(June 30, 2010 – New York, NY) Jessie James steals her way into everyone’s heart this season with “Boys In the Summer,” her brand new Mercury Records single – impacting at Top 40 radio on July 12th; at pop and country radio on July 13th; and at Hot AC on July 19th. CMT is now airing the “Boys In the Summer” video following its premiere on June 18th.
“Boys In the Summer” is the first new single pick from Jessie’s second album, due this summer on Mercury. The song is already gaining traction at radio with airplay on nearly 20 pop stations. “Boys In the Summer” is also the MySpace New Music Playlist feature for this week, as seen and heard by an average of more than 1 million visitors per day.
The new album follows-up her self-titled debut JESSIE JAMES (August 2009), which made headlines when it rose to #1 on the iTunes Pop Album Chart and #1 on Amazon’s MP3 chart. It was fueled by the Top 20 Pop Song chart success of its first single “Wanted,” the full-throttle dance-rock scorcher that Jessie co-wrote with American Idol judge and hit songwriter Kara DioGuardi (along with Mitch Allen and David Hodges). The album made a solid Soundscan debut at #24, and was also the #7 Digital Album.
With “Wanted” and her second single “I Look So Good (Without You)” at radio, Jessie premiered “My Cowboy” in November 2009, at the nationally televised 43rd Annual CMA Awards. The song was featured in tv promos on ABC and CMT for CMA’s annual Country Music Festival (formerly known as Fanfare) as CMT aired the “My Cowboy” video. (The song was also heard in Sorority Wars, a Lifetime cable tv-movie shown October 2009.)
Later in November-December, Jessie joined Kid Rock on “Tour For the Troops,” entertaining American troops in Southwest Asia, and families in Europe. The daughter of an Air Force fighter pilot and a self-described military brat (born on a U.S. base in Italy), Jessie was a welcome addition to the two-week schedule (formerly known as Operation Season’s Greetings), which made stops at Ramstein Air Base, Germany; Incirlik AB, Turkey; RAF Lakenheath, England; and a number of deployed locations in Southwest Asia.
In the final month of 2009, Jessie teamed with FOX-TV’s cable network SPEED™ as the face of their “SPEED™ Dream Ride” programming and promotion event. She re-grooved her catchy rock gem “Bullet” (co-written with pal Katy Perry) – “Is that a gun in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?” – with a customized theme for the “Dream Ride” campaign, which featured multiple marathons of SPEED™’s most popular weekly programming, and the premiere of new prime time series, Dangerous Drives.
Jessie has logged an astounding 16 million-plus total plays on her MySpace website, www.myspace.com/jessiejamesmusic. In addition to “Wanted,” “I Look So Good (Without You),” “My Cowboy,” and “Bullet,” the site also features full-length versions of every song on her debut album – including “Blue Jeans” (first heard in the hit Touchstone film and Hollywood Records soundtrack album of Confessions of A Shopaholic, and featured in the premiere episode of Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva), “Guilty,” “Burn It Up,” “Inevitable,” “Big Mouth,” “Burnin’ Bridges,” “Girl Next Door,” and “Psycho Girlfriend.”
